Title: Crisis Interventions Specialist

Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

Position Overview

Behavioral Health Interventions of Greater St. Louis is seeking an energetic, diligent, self-motivated and articulate team player to join its staff as a Crisis Interventions Specialist.
This position offers the opportunity to participate in a broad range of program operations as part of a professional, team-oriented organization.

The Crisis Interventions Specialist reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor. The Crisis Interventions Specialist will play a supportive-on role in the organization's day-to-day administration, working in close partnership with the organization's executive director and and the rest of the administrative team to carry out and manage the billing functions of the organization's activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

The role involves direct involvement in the administrative oversight of processes at such pertains to the organization's, compliance and navigation of Crisis Interventions Specialist practices which includes, but is not limited to ; serving as a technical and professional resource to the organization and with executive director oversight responsibility for Crisis Interventions Specialist practices of the organization including but not limited to the engagement of state, federal, and other program licensing/certification compliance,and communications related to Crisis Interventions Specialist practices.

Applicants who have previous Crisis Interventions Specialist experience as a credentialed practitioner as it regards direct-clinical care, multi-program administration, and communications experience are preferred. A solid understanding of Crisis Interventions Specialist responsibilites and related tasks and strategies is a requirement.
The position will begin mid-summer 2022 to assist the organization 's president/CEO with specific tasks, which include creating/updating the billing administration portion of employee manuals and handbooks, event planning,transition correspondence, publication management and special projects related to Counseling, Therapy, and other related responsibilities. Details of responsibilites to be further defined upon hire. In 2022 and beyond, the role will be expanded as described. The Crisis Interventions Specialist reports to the Clinical Supervisor




Scope of Responsibilities



  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients.

  • Provide Crisis Interventions Specialist support as indicated herein.

  • support the Creations of individualized interventions management components of clients' master treatment plans according to clients, needs and circumstances.

  • Assist in Monitoring the clients' facility basic functioning and compliances of daily activities regularly to provide support of counseling, treatment and treatment plan adjustment efforts.

  • Conducts ongoing monitoring support of client's daily program activity progress.

  • Involves and consults with other members of the treatment team when appropriate.

  • Recommend Referrals of clients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.

  • Maintains thorough records of monitored activities as they regard clients' progress.

  • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.

  • Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

  • Desired Qualifications

  • AAS degree in Human Services and 3-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Peer Support Specialist Certification from the MSACB in the state of Missouri

  • Crisis Interventions Certification from the MSACB or other appropriate training program in the state of Missouri

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in direct capacity of a Crisis Interventions Specialist preferably in a mental health setting

  • Knowledge of best practices legal, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements for licensure and funding.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Clinical Environment Management software and familiarity with specific evidence-based interventions, including preparation of data displays and reports.

  • Salary and Application Information


    Salary range is $31,500-$36,000 FTE, depending on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits include health, dental and 401(k) retirement plan. Position begins as soon as possible.
